Engineering Day at mall is Feb. 22

Some of the wonders of engineering will be on display again at the annual "Engineering Day at the Mall" on Saturday, Feb. 22, at Pyramid Mall from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m.

The day offers the community an opportunity to learn about the ways engineers work and engineering is applied.

The event is sponsored by Borg-Warner Automotive Inc. and Emerson Power Transmission Corp. and is presented by Cornell's College of Engineering and the Sciencenter.

Displays featured at last year's event included lasers, fiber optics and a superconductor. The Society of Women Engineers allowed visitors to design their own bridges and test their strength, and biomedical engineers exhibited the latest innovations in prosthetic limbs.
