The following tenure actions were approved by the Cornell Board of Trustees at its meeting Jan. 25. These actions became effective Feb. 1, unless otherwise noted:
Antonio M. Gotto Jr., the Stephen and Suzanne Weiss Dean and Provost for Medical Affairs, Cornell University Medical College, was elected professor of medicine with indefinite tenure, effective with his appointment as provost and dean on Jan. 1.
Philip S. Barie, associate professor of surgery, Department of Surgery, Cornell University Medical College, was elected associate professor of surgery with indefinite tenure.
Sol Gruner, professor with indefinite tenure, Department of Physics, Princeton University, was elected professor with indefinite tenure, Department of Physics, College of Arts and Sciences, effective July 1.
Jun-Lin Guan, assistant professor, Department of Pathology, College of Veterinary Medicine, was elected associate professor with indefinite tenure.
John M. Kuder, associate professor, Department of Human Service Studies, College of Human Ecology, was elected associate professor with indefinite tenure.
Margaret (Molly) Kyle, assistant professor, Department of Plant Breeding and Biometry, College of Agriculture and Life Sciences, was elected associate professor with indefinite tenure.
Edward J. Pearce, assistant professor, Department of Microbiology and Immunology, College of Veterinary Medicine, was elected associate professor with indefinite tenure.
David Wippman, associate professor, Cornell Law School, was elected associate professor with indefinite tenure.
