* The Heasley Rock Garden is in full bloom. Layers of native stone provide niches for sturdy alpine plants like miniature narcissus, rock jasmine and spring pasqueflower. The garden is located along the drive to Plantations' headquarters and gift shop.
* The Mundy Wildflower Garden, located at Forest Home Drive and Caldwell Road, is at its peak. This eight-acre woodland site features native and naturalized spring wildflowers, including showy red trilliums, sunny marsh marigolds and rare ladyslippers.

* Ph.D. recognition event: The ceremony to honor Ph.D. recipients will be held Saturday, May 24, at 5 p.m. in Barton Hall. Family, friends and faculty advisers are invited; a reception will follow. Candidates who participate must wear a cap and gown and must register in Barton Hall between 3:30 and 4 p.m. before the ceremony.
* Dissertation and thesis seminars will be held in Room 250, Caldwell Hall. * May 24, 3 p.m., Arts Quad: Under the president's reception tent, the Cornell University Wind Ensemble will present a free concert featuring patriotic songs and marches as well as traditional Cornell songs.
* May 24, 8:15 p.m., Bailey Hall: The Cornell University Chorus and Glee Club will perform separately and then join forces to perform a mixed-voice repertoire and traditional Cornell songs. Tickets are $5 in advance and $6 at the door.
