Soprano Dawn Upshaw, pianist Richard Goode, the Orpheus Chamber Orchestra, clarinetist Richard Stoltzman and the Emerson String Quartet, tenor/conductor Peter Schreier and the Mark Morris Dance Group are some of the prominent artists and ensembles who will grace campus stages during the 1997-98 Cornell Concert Series.

At 94, the Cornell Concert Series continues to grow and adapt. "We're blessed with audience members at both ends of the age spectrum," notes Richard Riley, concert manager of the Cornell Concert Series. "We have subscribers who have been coming to the Bailey Hall series for over 50 years. They've seen and heard the great ones from the European classical tradition, and we are proud to continue that tradition. At the same time, we have a constant flow of new audience members from other concert traditions."
The season opens Sept. 11 at 8 p.m. with a performance in Bailey Hall by Richard Stoltzman and the Emerson String Quartet.
