Arecibo upgrade dedicated

The 1,000-foot reflector dish of the Arecibo radio/radar telescope rests in a karst region sinkhole in Arecibo, Puerto Rico. It is the world's largest single-dish radio telescope and most powerful radar. See the table of contents for complete coverage of the dedication of the observatory's upgrade.

Chronicle publishing schedule for summer and fall

The Cornell Chronicle publishing schedule for the remainder of 1997 will be:

June 19, 26; July 10, 24; Aug. 7, 14, 21, 28; Sept. 4, 11, 18, 25; Oct. 2, 9, 16, 23, 30; Nov. 6, 13, 20; and Dec. 4, 11.

The Chronicle will not be published every other week in July, Thanksgiving week and during the Winter holiday break (four weeks).
