A scholarship fund in memory of the late W. Reid Thompson, Cornell senior research associate in the Laboratory for Planetary Studies, has been established at Washington County High School, Springfield, Ky., his high school alma mater. Thompson died in April 1996. He received two master's degrees and his doctorate from Cornell. He was a member of the Voyager 2 and Galileo Spacecraft Imaging teams, and he produced some of the most spectacular images of Earth from the Galileo data.
