The following tenure actions were approved by the Board of Trustees at its meeting Saturday, May 24. These actions become effective July 1.
Kathryn Abrams, professor of law with indefinite tenure, Northwestern University School of Law, was elected professor with indefinite tenure, Cornell Law School.
Emily S. Apter, professor, Department of Comparative Literature, College of Arts and Sciences, was elected professor with indefinite tenure.
Thomas (Tim) Borstelmann, assistant professor, Department of History, College of Arts and Sciences, was elected associate professor with indefinite tenure.
Anthony M.C. Brown, associate professor of cell biology and anatomy, and associate professor of cell biology and anatomy in microbiology, Cornell University Medical College, was elected associate professor of cell biology and anatomy with indefinite tenure.
Mark R. Cruvellier, assistant professor, Department of Architecture, College of Architecture, Art and Planning, was elected associate professor with indefinite tenure.
Andrew S. Galloway, assistant professor, Department of English, College of Arts and Sciences, was elected associate professor with indefinite tenure.
Lars O. Hedin, assistant professor, Section of Ecology and Systematics, Division of Biological Sciences, College of Arts and Sciences, was elected associate professor with indefinite tenure.
Allard Jongman, assistant professor, Department of Modern Languages, College of Arts and Sciences, was elected associate professor with indefinite tenure.
Judith G. Kellock, assistant professor, Department of Music, College of Arts and Sciences, was elected associate professor with indefinite tenure.
Michael W. Macy, professor, Department of Sociology, College of Arts and Sciences, was elected professor with indefinite tenure.
Fred S. McChesney, the Robert T. Thompson Professor of Law and Business, Emory University School of Law, was elected professor with indefinite tenure, Cornell Law School.
Robert J. Swieringa, the Anne and Elmer Lindseth Dean-elect of the S.C. Johnson Graduate School of Management at Cornell and professor in the practice of accounting, School of Management, Yale University, was elected professor with indefinite tenure, S.C. Johnson Graduate School of Management.
Patrick M. Wright, associate professor, School of Industrial and Labor Relations, was elected associate professor with indefinite tenure.
David B. Zax, assistant professor, Department of Chemistry, College of Arts and Sciences, was elected associate professor with indefinite tenure.
