* The Bowers Rhododendron Collection is now blooming. Take a break in the shade of the ancient pines on Comstock Knoll. Sprinkled among the evergreens are rhododendrons, azaleas and other flowering shrubs, now at their best. The Knoll is adjacent to Plantations' headquarters building; limited parking is available.
* The American Peony Society Garden is in full bloom. Bask in a peony potpourri of more than 75 herbaceous and woody cultivars, growing alongside other sun-loving perennials. Located in Plantations' headquarters area, adjacent to the greenhouse.

B.F.A. thesis show: "Paintings, Photographs, Sculpture" by Christina Batch, Jennifer Farrington, Meghan Faulkner, Rosemary Keyser and Erik Mulet, through June 5.
"The Instinct of an Artist: Shaw and the Theatre" runs through June 13 in the Division of Rare and Manuscript Collections. The exhibit includes manuscripts, letters, sketches and more from the George Bernard Shaw collection of Bernard F. Burgunder '18.* Dissertation and thesis seminars will be held in Room 250, Caldwell Hall. * Travel grants: Applications for conference travel grants are due at the Graduate Fellowships and Financial Aid Office, Caldwell Hall, by July 1 for August conferences. Application forms are available at graduate field offices. Grants for transportation are awarded to registered graduate students invited to present papers.
* August degree deadline: Friday, Aug. 22, is the deadline for completing all requirements for an August degree, including submitting the thesis/dissertation to the Graduate School.
* Summer registration: Summer graduate registration begins Monday, May 12, at the Graduate School information desk, Caldwell Hall. Student ID and in-person registration are required. Students must register if they are l) receiving financial aid during the summer (such as fellowships, summer loans, assistantships, travel grants or tuition awards); 2) wish to use campus facilities during the summer; or 3) are off campus but need to be registered for summer study. Graduate students who have been registered for a regular semester during the preceding academic year do not pay tuition for noncredit summer registration. Students approved for summer residence credit must pay the appropriate prorated Graduate School tuition rate.
