Employee/Family Day volunteers: Volunteers are needed to help out during Employee/Family Day on campus, Saturday, Sept. 20. The annual event includes the Cornell vs. Princeton football game at Schoellkopf Field and a barbecue in the Fieldhouse. The schedule for vounteering is 7 a.m.-2 p.m. food preparation; noon-1:30 p.m. set up; 2-4 p.m. and 4-6 p.m. servers, ticket-takers, runners (two shifts); and 3-6:30 p.m. clean-up. English classes: Registration for free English classes sponsored by the Cornell Campus Club will take place Thursday, Sept. 4, from 7:30 to 8:30 p.m. in Anabel Taylor Hall's One World Room. Anniversary celebration: Individuals are being sought who actively participated in activities sponsored by the International Committee of the Cornell Campus Club during the past 50 years. English language course: A non-credit course will be offered at Cornell for visiting academicians who seek improvement in any basic English-language skills, particularly speaking and listening comprehension. All language-learning activities will be oriented toward what will be most useful to the scholars during their stay here. Practice in speaking and pronunciation will include formal presentations and individual help with pronunciation problems. Field trips are regularly scheduled to provide opportunities for discussion with native English speakers. This 10-week course, which meets twice a week on Monday and Wednesday evenings from 5-7 p.m. will begin Monday, Sept. 22, and end on Wednesday, Dec. 1. The program fee is $450. Registrations must be submitted by 4 p.m. on Wednesday, Sept. 17.
