Stephen F. Hamilton, professor and chair of the Department Human Development and Family Studies, and Mary Agnes Hamilton, senior research associate in human development, are the recipients of the Lifetime Achievement Award from the non-profit organization, Jobs for the Future. They were cited by the organization for their " outstanding work with youth and intellectual contributions to the field" and for having " advanced school-to-career policy and practice nationwide." Jobs for the Future is an organization focused on the transitions and linkages between learning and work; it played a major role in developing the School-to-Work Opportunities Act of 1994. The Hamiltons co-direct the Cornell Youth and Work Program, a research and model program for youths to participate in work-based learning opportunities.
