Shoemobile: The Department of Environmental Health and Safety has announced that Lehigh Safety Shoe will be on campus with its shoemobile Thursday, Feb. 12. The shoemobile, which provides a large selection of safety shoes, will be at the Environmental Health and Safety Building, 201 Palm Road (east of the Orchards of Route 366), from 7:30 a.m. to 11 a.m. and from noon to 2:30 p.m. Employees eligible to receive department reimbursement for safety shoes should use an L-order (local pickup) with an authorized signature when purchasing shoes, using Lehigh Safety Shoe as the vendor. Employees going to the shoemobile may do so on work time with supervisory approval. The maximum monetary amount allowed by the department should be stated on the L-order. Questions can be referred to Environmental Health and Safety at 255-8200 or by contacting department staff on duty at the shoemobile.

Free English classes: Registration for free English classes sponsored by Cornell Campus Club will take place Thursday, Jan. 29, from 7:30 to 8:30 p.m. in the Cafe at Anabel Taylor Hall. Award nominations: The Robinson-Appel Humanitarian Award, established by alumni Gerald and Margot Robinson and Robert and Helen Appel, is designed to honor Cornell students' past and present contributions to community service. Applications and nominations are being sought for three awards of $1,500 each for use in community service activities. Applications and nominations are available at the Public Service Center, 200 Barnes Hall, or at the Information & Referral Center in the Day Hall lobby. Faculty and staff are invited to nominate deserving students by Feb. 13. Students will then be asked to complete the application. The application deadline is March 13.
