Effective immediately, all Cornell faculty and staff can ride any TCAT (Tompkins Consolidated Area Transit) bus between two campus locations for free with their Cornell ID. Previously, faculty and staff were only allowed to ride free on campus bus routes, but now they can hop on any TCAT bus to get across campus or to parking areas such as the A and B lots.
"There's been a high demand for the campus routes this year, especially during peak times, so we thought we'd give all faculty and staff members the option to use any of the TCAT buses to meet their needs while on campus," explained Nancy Oltz, TCAT's operations manager.
"By providing more route choices and frequency in service, we're hoping that using the bus on campus will be even more convenient and will encourage even more faculty and staff to take advantage of it," she added.
