Campus Hockey Tournament has its registration

The Cornell Campus Hockey Tournament Committee, in association with the Athletic Department and the Office of Assemblies, has announced the 1999 Campus Hockey Tournament has expanded to eight teams.

Competing for the tournament's Perry-Beavers Cup will be: two undergraduate teams (minimum); two graduate student teams; two staff teams; one faculty team; and one alumni team.

The committee will be setting up tournament registration tables in the lobby of Willard Straight Hall next week, Nov. 4 and 5, between 9 a.m. and 4 p.m. Any member of the Cornell community who wants to play in the tournament should sign up then or contact the appropriate team captain or coordinators by e-mail (see below).

Additional teams will be added if there is enough player demand.

For information on the tournament, contact the committee at 130 Day Hall, 255-6884 or 255-6893, or e-mail gab10@cornell.edu.

Team contacts, and their Cornell e-mail addresses, are: for grad students -- Matt Bacsardi (mmb12) and Matt Gorra (mfg6); for undergrads -- Ryan Kirwan (rck8) and Brian Pollina (bap17); for faculty -- Frank Wise (fww1) and Vic Kord (vk22); for alumni -- Jennifer Conley (jlc16); and for staff -- Pete Tufford (ept1) and Gary Brandt (gab10).

Alumnus Gary Bettman '72, National Hockey League commissioner, has agreed to present the Perry-Beavers Cup to the winning team at Lynah Rink Jan. 30, unless his NHL duties intrude.
