The 110-year-old East Hill walkway created by the city as a shortcut between Collegetown and Cornell and downtown was refurbished recently by the city of Ithaca and rededicated in a brief ceremony Friday, Oct. 23. Cutting the ceremonial ribbon for "Frosh Alley" -- which runs between Eddy and Quarry streets -- are, from left, 4th Ward Alderwoman Jane Marcham; John Schroeder, former 4th Ward alderman; Mayor Alan Cohen; 4th Ward Alderwoman Joan Spielholz; and Tom Hannah, also a former 4th Ward alderman. All are Cornell alumni. Schroeder and Hannah first organized the repair project, which was completed this spring. Frank DiMeo/University Photography
