Cornell University Librarian Sarah E. Thomas has announced the appointment of Janet A. McCue as associate university librarian for life sciences and director of Albert R. Mann Library.
"I am delighted that Janet McCue has accepted this position," said Thomas. "She has served in a number of positions of increasing responsibility in Cornell University Library during the past 20 years and is well-known and respected both on campus and within professional library circles."
McCue was appointed acting associate university librarian and acting director of Mann Library in January, replacing Jan Olsen, who left Cornell to become vice president at Wells College.
Daryl Lund, dean of the College of Agriculture and Life Sciences, said, "Janet McCue has been an important team member in building the excellence of Mann Library, and she will continue to bring outstanding leadership in ensuring its continued development."
Francille Firebaugh, dean of the College of Human Ecology, added, "Janet McCue is especially appropriate for the responsibility of directing Mann Library because of her experience and commitment to further strengthening the quality of its services, collections and facilities."
In her role as associate university librarian for life sciences, McCue also oversees the Flower-Sprecher Veterinary Library and the New York State Agricultural Experiment Station--Geneva Library.
