Loon antics

This photo of a Pacific loon, displaying for another loon in northeastern Manitoba, earned Tim Gallagher, editor of the Cornell Laboratory of Ornithology's Living Bird magazine, a third-place "special commendation" in the British Gas Wildlife Photographer of the Year competition, run by BBC Wildlife magazine and the Natural History Museum of London. Gallagher's photo will be part of an international gallery tour, a yearbook and a web site. Tim Gallagher
