Peace studies prize: Applications are being sought from Cornell undergraduates for the 13th annual Harrop and Ruth Freeman Prize in Peace Studies. The prize, developed to encourage undergraduates to pursue work or study in fields related to peace studies and conflict resolution, has a value of $1,400. Preference will be given to students who plan to work in peace-related organizations, but students who are going on to graduate work in the field are also eligible for consideration. Graduating seniors are eligible to apply by submitting: an application form, including a brief (200-300 word) statement of purpose; a letter of recommendation from an adviser or a faculty member who knows their work well; and a Cornell transcript. The application deadline is March 27, and the winner will be announced in April. Application forms and more information are available from the Peace Studies Program, 130 Uris Hall, 255-6484.

Dean of faculty candidates: The candidates for the position of dean of faculty will speak at an open forum for all faculty on Wednesday, Feb. 18, from 4:30 to 6 p.m. in Schwartz Auditorium, Rockefeller Hall.
