Daffodil Days: Alpha Tau Omega fraternity is once again providing the manpower behind the American Cancer Society's annual Daffodil Days fund-raiser March 23 to 29. Freshly picked daffodils from the state of Washington are being airshipped to Ithaca for sale and distribution to businesses, clubs, churches and other organizers and to individuals next week for the 26th annual event. Now in 41 states, Daffodil Days helps fight cancer on both local and national levels. All money raised from Daffodil Days goes to support the American Cancer Society's local programs of cancer education, direct patient services and support, as well as to fund critical national cancer research. Among the programs that benefit from Daffodil Days are "The Look Good, Feel Better" program, which helps women undergoing chemotherapy regain their appearance; and the "Road to Recovery" program, which helps find volunteer transportation for patients trying to get to their treatments. Volunteers from Alpha Tau Omega will be on campus later in the week selling flowers and completing presale distributions in campus buildings. Besides the campus distributions, daffodils will be available at the following locations in Tompkins County: P&C Markets on Judd Falls Road and on North Triphammer Road; A&P at Triphammer Plaza; Center Ithaca on the Commons; and Eckerd Drugs, South Meadow Street. Last year, the fund-raiser brought in $26,600 for the American Cancer Society. The Alpha Tau Omega co-chairs for this year's event are Ben Rymzo and Jamie Brown. For more information, contact Rymzo at 256-8648 bnri@cornell.edu or Marty Moses at 273-0731 mam16@cornell.edu.
