All items for the Chronicle Calendar should be submitted (typewritten, double spaced) by campus mail, U.S. mail or in person to Chronicle Calendar, Cornell News Service, Surge 3, Judd Falls Road.

Notices should be sent to arrive 10 days prior to publication and should include the name and telephone number of a person who can be called if there are questions.

Notices should also include the subheading of the calendar in which the item should appear.

* Dissertation and thesis seminars will be held in 100 Caldwell Hall. Master's thesis seminar will be Wednesday, June 17, 2 p.m.; doctoral dissertation seminar is Wednesday, June 24, 2 p.m. The thesis adviser will discuss preparing and filing theses and dissertations; students, faculty and typists are encouraged to attend.
* Travel grants: Conference travel grant applications are due at the Graduate Fellowships and Financial Aid Office, Caldwell Hall, by July 1 for August conferences. Grants are awarded to registered graduate students invited to present papers. Application forms are at graduate field offices and on the web at http://ww.gradschool.cornell.edu/grad/fellowships/intro.html.
* Summer registration: Summer graduate registration is at 150 Caldwell Hall. Student ID and in-person registration are required. Students must register if they are 1) receiving financial aid during the summer (such as fellowships, summer loans, assistantships, travel grants or tuition awards); 2) wish to use campus facilities during the summer; or 3) are off campus but need to be registered for summer study. Graduate students who have been registered for a regular semester during the preceding academic year do not pay tuition for noncredit summer registration. Students approved for summer residence credit must pay the appropriate prorated Graduate School tuition rate. Tuition must be paid for summer courses taken through the School of Continuing Education and Summer Sessions.

Department of Music
On June 5 at 9 p.m. and June 6 at 8 p.m., David Borden and Edward Murray present two-piano jazz in Barnes Hall. Free and open to the public, the concerts are the seventh in a series of Borden-Murray two-piano evenings. They will present their own arrangements of tunes, both solos and duets, from George Gershwin's operatic masterpiece Porgy and Bess.
Bound for Glory
June 7: Albums from the studio. Bound for Glory runs Sundays from 8 to 11 p.m. on WVBR-FM 93.5 and 105.5.

Intramural Summer Softball
Competitive, coed and recreational leagues are now forming for the summer softball season, June 15 to Aug. 7. Intramural softball is open to all Cornell staff, students and spouses/domestic partners. Teams play two games a week (MW or TR). Choice of day and time is on a first-come, first-served basis. The $50 entry fee and roster must be submitted to the Intramural Office, 305 Helen Newman Hall by June 9 at 5 p.m. Entry forms and more information is available at the IM Office; call 255-2315 or 255-5133.
