Rosemary Avery, associate professor of policy analysis and management, and Dennis Regan, associate professor of psychology, are participants in the Academic Leadership Series meeting's discussion group titled "Undergraduate Advising and Mentoring," May 19. The group worked on strategies to improve the advising and mentoring experience for undergraduates at the university. Other discussion groups addressed the topics "Undergraduate Participation in Research and the Creative Process," "Teaching and Learning" and "The Role of the Faculty in the Student's Intellectual Life Beyond the Classroom." The annual leadership series meeting, in David L. Call Alumni Auditorium of Kennedy Hall, provides an opportunity for faculty leaders and senior staff to discuss issues of importance to the future of the university and develop recommendations and strategies for change. This year's overall topic was "Creating a Community of Inquiry -- The Undergraduate Experience," and selected students also joined in the discussions. Nicola Kountoupes/University Photography
