Award

The following Cornell award is a continuation of the honors listed in the May 21 edition of the Chronicle and was received after that issue.

Department of English

The 1998 winner of the Guilford Essay Prize, awarded annually by the department to a student whose doctoral dissertation exhibits particularly fine prose style, is Andrew R. Walkling, Ph.D. history '97, for his dissertation titled "Court, Culture and Politics in Restoration England: Charles II, James II and the Performance of Baroque Monarchy."
