Poundstone's visit to campus is sponsored by the Cornell University Program Board.
English classes: Registration for English-as-a-second-language classes, offered by the Cornell Campus Club, is Feb. 3 in the Anabel Taylor Hall cafe, from 8 to 9 p.m. The registration fee is $10 for up to three classes. Beginner, intermediate and advanced classes begin Feb. 9.
Extramural study: Area residents and others wishing to pursue personal and professional growth can register this week for extramural study at Cornel. The program, sponsored by the School of Continuing Education and Summer Sessions, allows adults to register for virtually any Cornell course and take advantage of the university's wide range of activities. Area residents, Cornell employees and sponsored students from other universities may register for credit, audit classes without a grade or enroll on a non-credit basis through the Visitors' Program. Spring term classes began Jan. 25 and registration takes place from 8:30 a.m. to 4 p.m. through Friday, Jan. 29, in B20 Day Hall. For information call 255-4987, e-mail cusce@cornell.edu or visit the web site www.continuingeducation.cornell.edu.
Spanish classes: The Committee on U.S.-Latin American Relations (CUSLAR) is offering ongoing Spanish language classes at beginner and intermediate levels. The classes are small, conversation oriented groups. Students may join at any time. The classes are open to the public. For more information, call the CUSLAR office at 255-7293.
