Papers awarded financial support by the Faculty Fellows in Service Program -- sponsored by the Cornell Public Service Center (PSC) and Vice President for Student and Academic Services Susan Murphy -- were presented Jan. 22 at the second annual Faculty Service-Learning Symposium in Statler Hall. The papers, from five faculty and community teams, describe new service-learning models and new ways of linking the community, students and faculty in service-learning opportunities. Above, at a session on the paper "Practical Training in Routine Pet Care in an Underprivileged Community," are, from right, Leonardo Vargas-Mendez, assistant director of service learning at the PSC; William Hornbuckle, professor of veterinary medicine; Dwight Bowman, assistant professor of veterinary medicine; and Debra Dover, former director of the Southside Community Center.
