Thanksgiving feast: Preparations are under way for this year's Thanksgiving feast on campus. All members of the Cornell community are invited to attend this traditional American meal, Thursday, Nov. 25, from noon to 3 p.m. in the Trillium dining room in Kennedy Hall. Ticket prices are $7 for adults and $4 for children, 6-12 years old; children 5 and under eat for free. Tickets will not be sold at the door, so those who plan to attend need to purchase tickets by Wednesday, Nov. 24, at one of the following locations:

The holiday feast features an extensive buffet, including turkey, vegetarian entrees, squash, mashed potatoes, breads, pies, cider and a host of other items. Following the meal, from 12:30 to 3:30 p.m., guests may relax by the fire and enjoy desserts, beverages and games at an informal get-together in the Big Red Barn Graduate and Professional Student Center. For further information, contact Denise Medeiros Souza at 255-8735 or dm82@cornell.edu.

Shoemobile: The Department of Environmental Health and Safety has announced that Famous Brands will be on campus with its Red Wing shoemobile Friday, Nov. 19. The shoemobile, which provides a large selection of safety shoes with the convenience of on-campus shopping, will be at the Humphreys Service Building, 201 Palm Road (east of the Cornell Orchards, off Route 366), from 7:30 to 11 a.m. and from noon to 3 p.m. Employees eligible to receive department reimbursement for safety shoes should use their procurement cards when purchasing shoes to avoid out-of-pocket payments. Employees going to the shoemobile may do so on work time with supervisory approval. Purchase prices above departmental allowances can be paid by employees with cash, personal credit card or check. Refer questions to Environmental Health and Safety at 255-8200 or contact the department's personnel on duty at the shoemobile.
