CU research: From spider venom to water treatment

Cornell researchers from a wide variety of disciplines were in Anaheim, Calif., this week for the 217th national meeting of the American Chemical Society (ACS). ACS, founded in 1876, is the world's largest scientific society, with a membership of over 155,000 chemists and chemical engineers.

The papers presented by Cornell researchers at the annual meeting, which ends today, covered a breadth of topics, from water treatment to scavenging bacteria to spider venom. The following are just four of the research subjects presented at the meeting.
