K parking: During the next few weeks, a construction project on Campus Road will restrict parking in the K parking area across from Wilson Lab. This area will be affected during the following dates: Friday, May 14, when the lot will be closed to all traffic for a detour setup; and Monday, May 17, through Monday, May 24, when the lot will be open but will be limited in parking space due to a traffic reroute. To avoid this construction, Commuter and Parking Services recommends that motorists who regularly use this K area instead use the South Morrison K Lot at the intersection of Campus and Judd Falls roads on these dates. For more information, call Commuter and Parking Services at 255-PARK, or stop by one of the visitor and parking information booths on campus.

Undergrad award nominations: The Theory Center is inviting Cornell faculty to submit nominations for the 1999 IBM Undergraduates in Computational Science Award. The award, established through an IBM University Partnership Award and administered by the Theory Center, is intended to reward outstanding students in computational and computer science and to encourage them to pursue graduate study. To nominate a Cornell student for the award, faculty must submit a letter of nomination to Linda Callahan, associate director of the Theory Center, at Frank H.T. Rhodes Hall. The letter should indicate: undergraduate name, field of study, expected date of graduation, home address of student, description of computational work, references to web pages or publications describing work and a statement as to why the student should be considered for the award. Nominations will be reviewed by the Theory Center executive committee. The deadline for nominations is June 1.
