CU Board of Trustees meets this weekend

The Cornell Board of Trustees will meet on campus Friday, May 28, and Saturday, May 29.

The Executive Committee of the board will hold a brief open session at the start of its meeting at 3:30 p.m. Friday in the Pennsylvania Room of the Statler Hotel. The open session will include a discussion of the 1999-2000 financial plan for the statutory colleges.

The full board will convene on Saturday at 9 a.m. in Room B-9 of Sage Hall.

During the board's open session, which will adjourn at approximately 9:45 a.m., the board will hear a report from President Hunter Rawlings; a report from Dean of the Faculty J. Robert Cooke; a report from Catherine J. Lance-Duboscq, chair of the Employee Assembly; and the annual report from Mary Opperman, vice president for human resources, on the status of women and minority staff and faculty. The 1999-2000 financial plan and statutory college budget also will be presented.

Three other committees also will have open sessions on Friday:

A limited number of tickets for the open sessions of the Executive Committee and full board are available at the Information and Referral center in the lobby of Day Hall. No tickets are needed for the open sessions of the other committees.
