Taste of the Nation comes to Cornell

According to organizers and participants, the annual Share Our Strength "Taste of the Nation" benefit Monday, May 3, was a great success at its new home -- the Ramin Room of the Cornell Field House.

Preliminary figures Tuesday indicated that this year's benefit, which again featured food and wine donated, prepared and served by more than 75 area restaurants and wineries, brought in about $40,000, a new record; and paid attendance was up over a year ago. All of the proceeds from ticket sales are distributed by Share Our Strength to anti-hunger programs, including local agencies Loaves and Fishes, The Learning Web and the Green Street House.
