Notices should be sent to arrive 10 days prior to publication and should include the name and telephone number of a person who can be called if there are questions.

graduate bulletin

Fall registration: Registration is in the Field House, Monday, Aug. 23, 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. for new students and 1 to 5 p.m. for continuing students with "holds." New students must go to the Field House. Unregistered continuing students clear bursar holds by going to the Field House, 1-5 p.m. For other holds, go to the office where the hold was placed, then go to the Field House. Continuing students who clear university obligations by Aug. 13 (i.e., tuition paid, no holds) will be registered and do not go to the Field House. Check "Just the Facts" after Aug. 15 to determine if you are registered.
* Partial tuition fellowship: Self-supporting doctoral students are eligible for partial tuition fellowships if they entered the doctoral program in spring 1995 or earlier, have six semesters registered in the Graduate School and have passed the A-exam. Completed applications are due at the Graduate Fellowship Office, 155 Caldwell Hall, by Aug. 27 for fall 1999 semester.

Summer Sessions Classical Concerts
Free tickets are required and are available starting at 6:30 p.m. the day of the performance at the Center for Theatre Arts. Concerts begin at 7:30 p.m., Proscenium Theatre.
* Jim Self and Brandon Miller explore the interface between movement and music and expand the parameters of dance July 27. (For mature audiences.)
* Xak Bjerken and Michael Zaretsky will perform works by Brahms, Schumann and Jakoulov on Aug. 3.
Summer Sessions Outdoor Concert
Concerts are at 7:30 p.m. on the Arts Quad. Rain location: Uris Hall Auditorium.
* The Lonesome Road Ramblers specializes in vintage bluegrass music and will perform July 23.
* Cornerstone will perform its original material, drawing from bluegrass, swing, Cajun and many other influences, July 30.
* Samite celebrates the music of his native Baganda culture, singing in the language of his homeland and playing on traditional African instruments, Aug. 6.
Bound for Glory
Mustard's Retreat will perform July 25, and Broadside Electric, on Aug. 1. Live shows will resume Aug. 29. The show is broadcast from 8 to 11 p.m. in the Anabel Taylor Hall Cafe on WVBR-FM 93.5 and 105.5, with live sets at 8:30, 9:30 and 10:30 p.m. Admission is free.
