The Inauguration of Hunter R. Rawlings III as President of Cornell University
Hunter R. Rawlings III, president of the University of Iowa, took office July 1, 1995 as Cornell's new president, succeeding Frank H. T. Rhodes. A formal inauguration ceremony was held on Thursday, Oct. 12. As part of the celebration, an academic symposium on American values was held Wednesday, Oct. 11.
