Weiss and Appel Fellowships: This year's faculty awardees of both Stephen H. Weiss Presidential Fellowships and the Robert and Helen Appel Fellowships for Humanists and Social Scientists will be announced in front of members of the Cornell Board of Trustees and University Council during an awards dinner tonight on campus. The Weiss Fellowship is a universitywide award that honors faculty members who have sustained records of effective, distinguished and inspirational teaching of undergraduate students and who have contributed to undergraduate education. Appel Fellowships generously support College of Arts and Sciences faculty members in the humanities who have demonstrated excellence in teaching and show great promise as scholars.
