Historian-activist Howard Zinn speaks: Noted historian, activist and author Howard Zinn will speak at Cornell Thursday, April 12, 8-9:30 p.m. in Bailey Hall. Zinn's talk, titled "Is Democracy Possible?" is free and open to the public. However, tickets are required for admission. In his lecture, Zinn will address social gains achieved through mass movements and assess the success and failure of our democratic system today. A professor of history emeritus at Boston College, Zinn is best known for his book A People's History of the United States, which emphasizes the historical impact of mass movements by everyday people.
