Congratulations to the Cornell community for its efforts on behalf of the United Way -- the Cornell United Way campaign has gone over the top, raising $594,648, say campaign organizers. That's $9,648 over the goal of $585,000 for this year's campaign, thanks to the generosity of Cornell employees, faculty, retirees and students.
"A hearty thank you to our contributors as well as to the division deputies and members of the Cornell United Way cabinet who worked so hard to make this year's campaign a success," said Hal Craft, chair of the Cornell United Way campaign this year and the university's vice president for administration and CFO.

"We still have a ways to go to equal last years Cornell total, however. And the countywide campaign still has a way to go," Craft added. "So I'm hoping that those at Cornell who have not yet contributed will still consider doing so.
"United Way of Tompkins County provides funding for more than 100 health and human-service programs that have an impact on and improve the quality of life for thousands of residents, from infants to senior citizens. By supporting United Way, we help the organization provide a network of services that affect the lives of our friends, family and coworkers," Craft said. He noted that the United Way has been supporting the citizens of this county for 82 years through the efforts and generosity of people who provide both time and contributions.
Pledges can be paid through payroll deduction, in a check or with a credit card. Even for those who have decided not to make a contribution this year, campus campaign coordinators are asking that all United Way pledge cards be returned as soon as possible.
