The Cornell Air Force ROTC unit will present a discussion with alumni who participated in the ROTC program and served in the U.S. Army Air Force during World War II, Monday, Nov. 29, at 4 p.m. in Hollis E. Cornell Auditorium, Goldwin Smith Hall. Five panelists will discuss their experiences during the presentation, titled "Face to Face: the USAAF Revisited."
The panel participants are: Frank Collyer, Dave Cutting, Chester Freeman, Jack Krieger and Wilbur Sovocool. The discussion will serve as an opportunity for students, faculty and the community at large to listen to and ask questions of these alumni and veterans. One participant was among the first cadets to receive a commission immediately after the war under the newly independent Department of the Air Force; all participants flew a wide array of combat aircraft and will tell some of their stories. They also will talk about their connections to Cornell before, during and after the war.
Registration is not required but is suggested. For more information, contact the Air Force ROTC unit at 255-4004 or 255-5655, or send e-mail to Maj. Byron Breese at rbb35@cornell.edu.
