Get your year off to a sizzling start by attending Cornell Cinema's Hot Winter Nights, a film series featuring classic and contemporary films that promise to warm you up in the dead of winter.

Indulge in new prints of three erotic classics: "Last Tango in Paris," starring Marlon Brando, on Jan. 21 and 25; "Dona Flor and Her Two Husbands," starring the stunning Sonia Braga, on Jan. 22 and 24; and "La Dolce Vita," starring the always sexy Marcello Mastroianni, on Jan. 27 and 30.

Contemporary Asian cinema features prominently in the lineup as well. "Untold Scandal," the gorgeous Korean remake of "Les Liaisons Dangereuses" set in aristocratic 18th century Korea, will screen on Jan. 20, 22 and 25; Thai sensation Apichatpong Weerasethakul's controversial "Blissfully Yours," an eccentric and explicit erotic tale about a Thai woman's relations with an illegal Burmese immigrant, premieres on Jan. 26, 29 and 30; a new print of Wong Kar-wai's "Days of Being Wild," a rapturous and melancholy story about a man and two women drifting through Hong Kong in 1960, shows Feb. 3 through 6; and another Thai film, "Last Life in the Universe," shot by Wong Kar-wai's amazing cinematographer, Christopher Doyle, screens Jan. 27, 28 and 31.

And there's more: a titillating collection of 12 pornographic one-reelers from early 20th-century France titled "The Good Old Naughty Days" will show Jan. 22 and 24; a new print of the late Russ Meyer's hilarious parody of his own work, "Beyond the Valley of the Dolls," screens Jan. 20 and 21; and Catherine Breillat's "Sex Is Comedy," screening Jan. 26 and 29, follows a movie director attempting to shoot a sex scene between two actors who can't stand each other. Please note: The "Sex Is Comedy" screenings replace "The Brown Bunny" screenings listed in Cornell Cinema's calendar.

Tickets are $6 general admission; $4.75 students and seniors; and $4 Cornell graduate students. Screenings take place in the Willard Straight Theatre and in Uris Hall Auditorium.
