The following tenure actions were approved by the Cornell Board of Trustees at its fall meeting in Ithaca. These actions became effective Nov. 1, unless noted.

College of Agriculture and Life Sciences

Paula H. Horrigan, assistant professor, Department of Landscape Architecture, was elected associate professor with indefinite tenure.

James P. Shapleigh, assistant professor, Section of Microbiology, Division of Biological Sciences, was elected associate professor with indefinite tenure.

Barbara J. Strupp, associate professor, Division of Nutritional Sciences, was elected associate professor with indefinite tenure.

College of Arts and Sciences

Eberhard Bodenschatz, assistant professor, Department of Physics, was elected associate professor with indefinite tenure.

Donald B. Campbell, professor, Department of Astronomy, was elected professor with indefinite tenure.

Stephen Coate, professor, Department of Economics, was elected professor with indefinite tenure.

Maria Cristina Garcia, associate professor with indefinite tenure, Texas A&M University, was elected associate professor with indefinite tenure, Department of History, effective Jan. 1, 1999.

Harry W. Greene, professor with indefinite tenure, University of California, Berkeley, was elected professor with indefinite tenure, Section of Ecology and Systematics, Division of Biological Sciences, effective Jan. 1, 1999.

Mark W. Gross, assistant professor, Department of Mathematics, was elected associate professor with indefinite tenure.

Jonathan D. Kirshner, assistant professor, Department of Government, was elected associate professor with indefinite tenure.

Joseph T. Rogers, assistant professor, Department of Physics, was elected associate professor with indefinite tenure.

Laurent Saloff-Coste, professor, Department of Mathematics, was elected professor with indefinite tenure.

Zygmunt J. Haas, associate professor, School of Electrical Engineering, was elected associate professor with indefinite tenure.

Ronitt Rubinfeld, assistant professor, Department of Computer Science, was elected associate professor with indefinite tenure.

Patsy M. Brannon, professor with indefinite tenure, University of Maryland, was elected professor with indefinite tenure, Division of Nutritional Sciences, effective with her appointment as Dean of the College of Human Ecology, anticipated during the summer of 1999.

Charlotte A. Jirousek, assistant professor, Department of Textiles and Apparel, was elected associate professor with indefinite tenure.

Sharon Tennyson, associate professor, Department of Policy Analysis and Management, was elected associate professor with indefinite tenure.

School of Industrial and Labor Relations

Maria Lorena Cook, assistant professor, Department of Collective Bargaining, Labor Law, and Labor History, was elected associate professor with indefinite tenure.
