Leadership Tompkins: Leadership Tompkins, a program conducted jointly by the Tompkins County Chamber of Commerce and Tompkins Cortland Community College, is designed to ensure the continuing vitality of our community by identifying and developing individuals for future leadership roles. Each year, Cornell sponsors two university employees to participate in Leadership Tompkins. The next leadership class, from October 1999 through June 2000, will introduce participants to the services, resources and issues facing the community and will enhance their leadership potential through seminars, retreats and field trips. The Office of Community Relations is seeking nominations of employees who want to develop their leadership skills and potential, who have a strong continuing interest in and commitment to Tompkins County and who desire to emerge as community leaders. If you know of someone who might benefit from and contribute to the 1999-2000 Leadership Tompkins program, submit nominations to the Office of Community Relations, 110 Day Hall, by Friday, June 4. Include background on the individual and your reasons for supporting the nomination. Self-nominations also may be submitted by the June 4 deadline.
