All items for the Chronicle Calendar should be submitted by campus mail, U.S. mail or in person to Chronicle Calendar, Cornell News Service, Surge 3, Judd Falls Road.

Notices should be sent to arrive 10 days prior to publication and should include the name and telephone number of a person who can be called if there are questions.

Notices should also include the subheading of the calendar in which the item should appear.

* CAPE meeting: The spring meeting of the Cornell Association of Professors Emeriti will be Thursday, May 20, at the Biotechnology Building. Registration begins at 1:30 p.m., the business meeting will begin at 2 and the program, at 2:30 p.m. Professor Yervant Terzian will speak on "The Magnificent Universe." The meeting is open to the public.

Fellowship checks: Students with summer fellowships administered through the Graduate School may pick up checks at 155 Caldwell Hall between 8 a.m. and 4:15 p.m., starting June 1. Students must be registered for summer 1999 and should bring Cornell ID.
* August degree deadline: Friday, Aug. 20, is the deadline for completing all requirements for an August degree, including submitting the thesis/dissertation to the Graduate School.
Faculty meeting: A graduate faculty meeting will be held Friday, May 28, 4 p.m., 125 Caldwell Hall. The meeting is solely for the purpose of voting on May degrees.
Merrill Lynch grants: The Merrill Lynch Forum Innovation Grants Competition is open to doctoral students who successfully defend their doctoral dissertations between Jan. 1, 1997, and Sept. 15, 1999, and who best explain the commercial implications of their dissertation topic.
