The meeting will be held in the Fall Creek Room of the Cornell Club of New York, 6 E. 44th St., at 2 p.m. In open session at the beginning of the meeting, the committee will hear a report from President Hunter Rawlings and an update on the New York state and State University of New York (SUNY) budgets. The Buildings and Properties Committee will meet at 9 a.m. in the Fall Creek Room. During a brief open session at the beginning of the meeting, the committee will review the status of numerous renovation and utilities projects under way on campus. A limited number of tickets to the meetings are available to the public from the Cornell Information and Referral Center at 254-INFO.
Employee Family Day: The silver anniversary of Employee Family Day at Cornell, sponsored by the Office of Human Resources, is Saturday, Sept. 25. Tickets will be on sale for $5 each through Sept. 17 at the following locations: the Department of Athletics, Helen Newman Hall, the Campus Store and the Cornell Recreation Connection (CRC) from 8 a.m. to 10 a.m. in 130 Day Hall. For those participating Sept. 25, the Cornell-Fordham football game will kick off at 1 p.m. at Schoellkopf Field, followed by a chicken barbecue or vegetarian entree-choice meal, to be served in Barton Hall from 3:30 to 5:30 p.m. To celebrate a century of football tradition, there will be a drawing at the football game in which faculty, staff and retirees are eligible to win two U.S. Airways round-trip tickets, season hockey tickets and all-sport passes (excluding for men's hockey). For every ticket purchased, an entry form can be submitted for the drawing. In addition, in honor of Employee Appreciation Week, Sept. 20-25, a coupon is featured in this past week's and the Sept. 16 issues of PawPrint for prizes that will be given away at the barbecue following the game. Other planned Employee Appreciation Week activities include a Johnson Art Museum exhibit and reception, a Cornell chimes concert, the CRC picnic and the United Way kickoff party. Departments that would like to reserve booths displaying the services or opportunities offered to faculty and staff, should contact Joe DeMarco at 254-5407, 255-8200 or jjd7@cornell.edu. Those who would like to volunteer at the barbecue should contact Janet Beebe at 255-7565. Each $5 ticket will include admission to the game, a barbecue dinner and an entry form for prizes. Those who choose not to attend the game can consider giving their football tickets back to the athletics department so they can be donated to a local youth organization.
