The White Pine Singers opened their drum for the 1999-2000 academic year on the Agriculture Quad Sept. 3. Members of the Native community gathered to drum and sing in honor of women of color on the Cornell campus and to express concern about proposed budget cuts in the American Indian Program (AIP). Later in the day, AIP Director Jane Mt. Pleasant said many of the issues had been resolved.
