Outlaws

Would-be legal researchers eager to delve into primary sources are in luck: Everyone in the Cornell community can now access many of these sources on Westlaw, an online legal research service.

Usually, Westlaw can only be accessed via password, but now, users can sign into it without a password through a designated terminal in the Law Library’s reading room during normal hours.

The terminal offers access to state and federal law databases with coverage of cases, statutes, attorney general opinions and administrative codes. Additional materials are available for New York state, including court orders, journals and law reviews.

Users can email documents, download them to USB drives and print to public printers in the Law Library and other campus libraries, and the Law Library’s reference desk is ready to help with questions about using Westlaw.
