Newly-hatched Embryos

Newly hatched midshipman embryos, about 2-3 weeks old and 8 mm in body length, are perched atop their yolk sac which provides them with nourishment as they grow to eventually become free-swimming fry at about 20-25 mm (40-50 days old).
