Novelists, poets, activist headline Creative Writing Program reading series

The Creative Writing Program has announced the schedule for its spring 2008 Reading Series, which features established and emerging artists. All events are free and open to the public.

Denis Johnson, fiction writer; Mark Doty, poet and nonfiction writer; and Paul Lisicky, fiction writer, Feb. 15, 7:30 p.m., Schwartz Auditorium, Rockefeller Hall.

Sarah Mkhonza, fiction writer and Ithaca City of Asylum Writer in Residence, Feb. 28, 4:30 p.m., Hollis E. Cornell (HEC) Auditorium, Goldwin Smith Hall.

The Richard Cleaveland Memorial Reading with three artists who teach at Cornell: Ernesto Quiñonez, fiction writer; Lyrae Van Clief-Stefanon, poet; and J. Robert Lennon, fiction writer, March 27, 4:30 p.m., HEC, Goldwin Smith Hall.

Alison Bechdel, graphic novelist and author of the syndicated comic strip "Dykes to Watch Out For," April 10, 7:30 p.m., Lewis Auditorium, Goldwin Smith Hall. Co-sponsored by the Feminist, Gender and Sexuality Studies Program.

The Eamon McEneaney Memorial Reading with Irish poet and Stanford University professor Eavan Boland, April 24, 7:30 p.m., Schwartz Auditorium, Rockefeller Hall.
