Hospitality industry leaders Bob Alter '73, Andy Dolce, M.S. '63, and Christian Kiefer have been named executives-in-residence at Cornell's School of Hotel Administration. They will guest lecture in classes, interact with faculty, and provide advice and direction to students.

"Bob, Andy and Christian have built the kind of careers that many of our students aspire to," said Steve Carvell, the school's associate dean for academic affairs. "Through their participation in our academic programs, students will learn more about what it takes to become a truly distinctive leader in the hospitality field."

Alter is chairman of Sunstone Hotel Investors, a leading real estate investment trust. The firm owns, develops and renovates upscale hotels operated under brands such as Marriott, Hyatt, Hilton and Fairmont. Alter has been a longtime supporter of the university and the school.

Dolce is founder and chairman of Dolce Hotels and Resorts, a leader in planning and managing business meetings and conferences. Dolce's firm manages hotels, resorts and conference centers in North America and Europe. He earned a master's degree from Cornell in applied economics and management.

Kiefer is director of culinary services and corporate executive chef for Schwan's Foodservice Inc. Earlier, he owned and operated Kiefer's, a restaurant in Atlanta that earned national acclaim. Kiefer is a graduate of the Florida Culinary Academy and the Michael Coles School of Business Administration at Kennesaw State University.

Alter, Dolce and Kiefer join current executives-in-residence Shelly La Motte, Joe Lavin, Tim Sansbury and David Sherf.
