Tracy Dolgin '81 to receive ILR School's Alpern Award

Tracy Dolgin '81, president and CEO of the YES (Yankees Entertainment and Sports) Network since 2004, will receive ILR's Alpern Award March 29, 2012, in New York City as part of the school's annual Groat and Alpern celebration.

The Alpern Award, named in honor of business and financial consultant Jerome Alpern '49, MBA '50, is given periodically to an ILR graduate whose career accomplishments have been primarily outside the field of industrial and labor relations, or to a friend of the school.

Dolgin, who oversees all aspects of operations for YES, the nation's most-watched regional sports network, has led YES through a number of firsts. In 2010, in collaboration with DirecTV, YES presented the first 3-D Major League Baseball telecast. In 2009, YES partnered with Major League Baseball Advanced Media and Cablevision to produce the first live in-market streaming offering in professional sports. Also in 2009, YES became the first regional sports network in the nation to launch its feed nationally on cable systems.

Before joining the YES Network, Dolgin served as managing director and co-head of Houlihan Lokey Howard and Zukin's Media, Sports and Entertainment practice.

Before that, Dolgin held various executive positions at Fox, including president of Fox Sports Net, the country's first national, regional and local supplier of sports programming; manager of the Fox owned and operated regional sports networks and FoxSports.com; CEO of Fox/Liberty Cable, and executive vice president of marketing at Fox Sports. Earlier in his career, he worked HBO and at General Foods.

Dolgin has an MBA from Stanford University.

Mary Catt is a staff writer at the ILR School.
