Apply for 2017 Internationalizing the Curriculum Grants

Proposals for 2017 Internationalizing the Cornell Curriculum (ICC) Grants are due by Feb. 15, 2017, the Office of the Vice Provost for International Affairs announced Dec. 2.

The grant program emphasizes rigorous, innovative approaches in teaching, learning and research that strengthen international and cross-cultural concepts in the undergraduate curriculum.

The 2017 grants mark the third year of the program. In the first two years of the program, grants were awarded to 70 faculty members working on 38 projects with community partners in countries across the world.

A total of $250,000 is available to be allocated.

This year, the ICC grant program will focus on “Global at Home,” said David R. Lee, provost's fellow for internationalization and a member of the grant review committee.

“Proposed projects should be on-campus initiatives that expose students to the breadth of cultures and languages, and expand their exposure to, and familiarity with, global issues and diverse international perspectives,” Lee said.

The Global Cornell website includes complete information about the 2017 ICC grants: the request for proposals (RFP), application information and lists of 2016 and 2015 grant awardees.

Interested faculty are also invited to attend the ICC Proposal Writing Workshop and Information Session Monday, Dec. 12, from noon to 2 p.m., in Uris Hall, room G08. The RFP will be outlined and discussed, faculty can share and brainstorm project ideas, tips for writing a successful proposal will be provided, and there will be a Q&A.

ICC grants are administered by the Office of the Vice Provost for International Affairs, the Mario Einaudi Center for International Studies and Cornell Abroad, with support from the Internationalization Council.
