April 2007
With April victories over Ivy rival Princeton and upstate foe Syracuse (pictured), the No. 1-ranked men's lacrosse team has clinched at least a share of the Ivy League title as well as the conference's automatic berth in the NCAA tournament. The Big Red also has three players nominated for national player of the year. Read about the April 21 Princeton game, which featured a ceremony honoring CU's 1977 undefeated national championship team.
On April 21 senior Kari Kucera became the first Cornell gymnast to win a national title, with her effort on the floor exercise. The Big Red claimed six All-America honors, and head coach Paul Beckwith and assistant coach Melanie Dilliplane were named coaches of the year. Read about the championships in Seattle.
