Event Recap It was billed as a public program at the New York Public Library for the Performing Arts, but it felt more like an intimate dinner party with Arthur Laurents '37 as guest of honor. Before a capacity crowd April 6, Laurents, librettist and director of the critically acclaimed revival of the musical "Gypsy," regaled his audience with stories of stripper Gypsy Rose Lee and her family. Laurents' new play, "New Year's Eve," opens this spring at the George Street Playhouse, and he is writing a show for Bernadette Peters.
