The circle of (academic) life begins again as the Class of 2010 arrivesThe first days on campus were busy ones for new students, starting Aug. 18. In addition to moving in and getting registered, they met fellow newcomer to campus President David Skorton, who challenged them to broaden their horizons. Inauguration: View Cornell history in the makingWith great expectations, Cornell will officially enter "the Skorton era" on Sept. 7 at 3:30 p.m. In a lively and colorful ceremony on the Arts Quad, David J. Skorton will be inaugurated as Cornell's 12th president. Inauguration events kick off Sept. 6 at 4:30 p.m. with an academic symposium, "Culture, Identity and Conflict in World Affairs," featuring Robert Kagan, an expert on U.S. foreign policy and national security. Both the inauguration ceremony and the symposium will be webcast live on the Cornell Web site. Visit http://www.cornell.edu/ on the day of the event for a link to the webcast.
