Bomb threat clears Sage Hall

Cornell Police ordered the evacuation of the Johnson School in Sage Hall for about two hours Aug. 28 after a faculty member reported receiving an e-mail claiming that a bomb was in the building.

According to the Cornell Press Relations Office, students, faculty and staff were escorted safely from Sage Hall shortly before 11 a.m. and were allowed to return at 1 p.m. after a search by police equipped with bomb dogs revealed no explosive devices within the building.

K-9 units belonging to Cornell Police, New York State Police and a group from the Binghamton Police Department that happened to be training in the area responded to the call.
